Top Tips & Trends for Summer Home Styling in 2015

Posted: Jan 12 2015

Now that we’re nearer to the end of January, all we can think about is the warmer months. After all, once Christmas is out of the way, winter can be so tiresome. The colder mornings, the darker evenings and the constant warnings of snow - who needs all of this in their lives when we can be getting ready for spring!
Whilst we’re still not quite that near to spotting new leaves on branches and enjoying drinks on the terrace, we can still dream, can’t we? So, with this very spirit in mind, we’re looking ahead at spring summer 2015!
When it comes to home styling, it isn’t always that appropriate (or practical, for that matter) to change your designs each season, but, who’s to say that you can’t make a little light touch or two to what you already have! Because we love home styling, not just for the kitchen, we thought we’d share some of the things to look out for, or take a little inspiration from, this spring summer season.

Colour

paint pots

Each season, you can guarantee that there’ll be a new colour that everyone’s talking about, that can be spotted all throughout home stores and might even appear in your own home. For the warmer months, you’ll spot brighter colours as much as any other year, but this season, they’re set to be even bolder! Hot pink and sweet lemons are two that could be on the cards, if they’re your sort of style. If not, soft apricots with a golden feel and fresh shades of green are also set to hit the style charts. For neutrals, grey has pretty much taken over for the best part of 2015!
Nautical

coral

We all know that the nautical theme and summer goes hand in hand, but how much of it do you actually bring into your home decor? For 2015, be sure to expect a touch of marine influences in magazines and stores. But this isn’t your standard anchor printed wallpaper or scatter cushion - oh no, this is the new nautical. Rope and wood have been the two show-stopping materials for styling, but not in your standard colour options. Think sea greens and sunset brights! And for a little something extra, fall in love with coral and seashell styling in fabric prints and decorations alike!
 Texture

wicker

As a tricky trend goes, texture is up there. We tend to get used to the touches and feels of our fabrics and materials throughout our homes and it can be strange accepting something new. Well, it used to be anyway. For 2015, spot wicker making a bit of a comeback - but in a much more modern way: painted. But not in bright whites or it’s traditional wood hues, wicker is set to be pastel and pretty for the summer months! You also might find the use of yarn and beads popping up as tapestry is set to make an appearance at home for summer as well as terracotta. Forget your garden plants, take this little beauty to your desk and kitchen to house all of your bits and bobs!
Now that you’re ahead of the 2015 spring summer home styling game, how will the trends influence you?
